Matthew Zalewski is a Board Certified Criminal Defense Investigator, licensed private investigator, decorated former law enforcement officer, military veteran, and founder of Zulu Consulting & Solutions.

Based in Washington, Matthew provides criminal defense investigations, private investigations, OSINT research, witness location, background investigations, records research, social media intelligence, online attribution, and high-stakes investigative support for attorneys, law firms, businesses, and private clients.

Matthew brings more than 20 years of combined experience across criminal defense investigations, law enforcement, military service, intelligence support, corporate security, and technical investigations. His work is grounded in disciplined fact-finding, lawful information gathering, clear documentation, and strategic investigative judgment.

As a former patrol sergeant and law enforcement investigator, Matthew conducted and supervised hundreds of criminal investigations involving violent crimes, sexual assaults, narcotics, gang activity, highway interdiction, and crime scene analysis. His background gives him a practical understanding of how cases are built, how investigative decisions are made, and how details can shape the direction of a case.

Matthew is also a decorated law enforcement veteran, recognized by Governor Greg Abbott with the Star of Texas Award, and also has the Law Enforcement Purple Heart, and the Law Enforcement Award for Valor. His military service includes deployments and experience in intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, logistics, combat operations, and evidence collection in support of follow-up investigations and mission planning. That experience informs his disciplined approach to investigation, documentation, and high-pressure decision-making.

Through Zulu Consulting & Solutions, Matthew now applies that experience to criminal defense, civil, corporate, and complex investigative matters.
